Late post, but happy new year! New Year’s day was an interesting one this year. My parents came to visit me in the Bay Area, and we started off the day with a leisurely hike in the nearby mountains. My mom had a scare where she was having some weird sort of panic/anxiety/stomach episode. We didn’t get to finish the hike because of that, but I’m glad that nothing more serious happened to her. We spent the next few days together eating at new places and shopping. Nothing special, but this is the type of thing they are into.
Then it was time for my first trip of the year! I was excited to go back to Canada so soon after our Calgary/Banff/Jasper visit. This time, my trip was to Vancouver, British Columbia as well as Whistler for skiing. Vancouver has been on my list of cities to visit for a long time. One reason is that I’ve heard many good things about how nice the city is and how nice its people are. The other reason being that it is a city with very good Asian food, and I love me some Asian food. 🙂
Up next, we have a long road trip planned to Denver, Colorado. The goal is to make it to Vail for more skiing and the secondary goals are to check out the many national parks along the way! Planning to post about these national parks as we make our way through them!
Cheers to a strong 2018 travel start!
P.S. I haven’t forgotten about my JEEV! The trip ended in such a whirlwind of a manner that it is going to take me a while to refresh and calibrate back to photo-editing mode. Overall, the trip was amazing and I’m so happy to have been able to see the places we did. I have many drafts saved right now, and it’s just a matter of completing them and filling in the blanks I left for myself!
